What a whirlwind it’s been!
From the very first day you walked through our doors, you’ve supported us in ways we never dreamed of—filling up every table, queuing out the door, and making our little place buzz with life.
We’ve honestly loved every second.
For us, food has always been about more than just eating.
When Claire and Greg first met, their love language was wining and dining together—sharing plates, glasses of wine, and long conversations that carried late into the night.
These days, our most precious moments are at the table with our children, hearing about what they’ve done each day.
Family, food, and connection have always been at the heart of what we do.
That’s why, with your incredible support (and all that queuing!) we felt it was time for a bigger space. This October we’re moving to St Aubin’s, and with the move comes a new chapter and a new name: Ob Mizi.
“Ob mizi” means at the table in Slovenian.
For us, it’s where the best memories are made—whether that’s with friends, family, or the wider community.
At Ob Mizi, you can expect the same ethos you’ve always loved at The Old Barn—beautiful, honest food inspired by our Slovenian roots and made with the best local ingredients.
Only now, we’ll have more room to welcome you—whether it’s for a cosy breakfast, a lazy lunch, or a dinner that lingers long into the evening.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Ob Mizi this October.
It’s still us, still family-run, just with a little more space for everyone to gather round the table.
